What Is A Satire?
Ok, so you've seen the site. Just in case you are somewhat denser than lead, the site is satirical.
Satire is defined by Dictionary.com as:
satire \Sat"ire\: A composition, generally poetical, holding up vice or folly to reprobation; a keen or severe exposure of what in public or private morals deserves rebuke; an invective poem; as, the Satires of Juvenal.
Our particular focus is on the recent rulings in the U.S. courts that Microsoft Corporation is indeed a monopoly, and uses the power that comes with being a monopoly in negative ways. We had all been thinking for some time that this was the case, and now that the courts agree with us, we thought that it was about time for a laugh about the whole thing....and the concept of M$-Monopoly was born!
Despite landmark court rulings in the U.S., Canada, and abroad that protect satire and parody as elements of free speech, we have put together a page to help those who may not share our sense of humour.
